Yes, it is indeed that time, with an exciting opportunity. The window to Venus is open, and we sent two more science probes to this interesting planet. Both probes are of the Kepler 7 class. They carry a larger science package then previous Kepler probes, in particular a SAR scanner.
The launches did not all go well, and the second launch suffered unexpected rapid disassembly, when it tipped over at high speed. Fortunately a backup probe could be quickly fixed and was launched in its stead.
A few days post launch final adjustments where undertaken, and both probes are now on intercept course with Venus.
